To enter the Bahamas, Canadian citizens and permanent residents require a passport with 6 months expiry date beyond the date of departure. Canadians do not require a visa for the Bahamas or for the United States. (A visa is an official document issued by the Bahamas government that grants entry for my visit.)

For students travelling on a non-Canadian passport, check the Bahamian government web site for information. You may be required to obtain a visa to enter the Bahamas. It is students’ responsibility to verify whether they need a visa to enter Bahamas. In case of a medical emergency, it would be prudent to have an American Visa, as a backup.
